Finding the right therapist can be a daunting task. So, let help by telling you a little about myself and how I practice.

Hello! My name is Jessica Behne, MA, LMFTA, I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and a veteran. I served 8 years in the military and found a passion for helping others. Once I received my degree, I knew that I was called to work with those that need healing from trauma, life stressors, or relationship difficulties. Ultimately, allowing them to find their strength and power again through such healing. I approach counseling from a holistic approach, believing that the mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and relational health of each person is intimately intertwined.

How does it work?

Through therapy, I believe that one can gain clarity and self-understanding. This then allows healing to happen as we cultivate acceptance and compassion for ourselves and the perspective of our current trials. It is an ongoing process of engaging with our experiences from a place of curiosity and gentleness. Aspects of my therapy include deep listening to understand your reality; building your capacity to be present with your physical, emotional and mental states and helping you define your values, goals, and needs.

I do this by providing a safe space for my clients to work through their pain and past hurts, finding freedom from that pain, and finally, begin to flourish in the lives they desire most. I believe in honesty with kindness through authenticity and without judgment. I will be direct and open when it is needed most and can be received, but always encouraging and supportive of healthy thinking and progress. One of the best feelings is getting to the end of a journey with a client and seeing them become a new version of their best selves.

I believe that by the mere fact that you are here today, willing to look into therapy, shows strength, courage and a willingness to explore change. Let’s take the next step together!
