My name is Alexis McCray and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate supervised by Carole Gilmore, MSMHC, LPC-S, CMHIMP, CCATP. I joined Breakthrough Therapy and Life Coaches in January 2021. I received my Associates of Science in Human Resource Management from the Community College of the Air Force. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Argosy University. I received my Master’s of Arts degree in Counseling in 2018 from Webster University-San Antonio. I am currently a student attending Mississippi College pursuing a Doctorate of Professional Counseling degree. I was born in Anchorage, Alaska but grew up as an Army dependent while my father served. I joined the Air Force at 17 years old and served on active duty for 11 years until June 2017, to include one deployment to Kuwait. I love movies, traveling, and food. My favorite activities involve being a pet mom to my 3 dogs, bearded dragon, and ball python. I have lived in the El Paso, TX area since March 2018.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) as therapeutic interventions, seeing clients ages 15 through adults. All therapy is provided virtually at this time.
I am passionate about what I do and dedicated to improving the quality of life for my clients. I care about people and want the best for them in their lives. I have an easy-going, but direct therapeutic style. I believe people do best when they feel heard and have supportive people in their lives.
Clients Seen: those diagnosed with anxiety, depression, highly motivated clients, military service members, veterans, and their families
